Urgent Action Needed in Two Areas, Dr. Tedros of WHO Tells EAT Forum

The Decade of Action on Nutrition is an important opportunity to create a global movement to improve nutrition and increase the availability of nutritious food, the Director-General says in this video address to #EATforum18, and highlights two areas in need of urgent action.

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was elected as WHO Director-General for a five-year term by WHO Member States at the Seventieth World Health Assembly in May 2017. Immediately after taking office Dr Tedros outlined five key priorities for the Organization: universal health coverage; health emergencies; women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health; health impacts of climate and environmental change; and a transformed WHO.
