Dr. An Pan is a Professor of Epidemiology at School of Public Health, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology since 2015. Previously, Dr. Pan worked as a research fellow at the Department of Nutrition, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and as an Assistant Professor at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. Dr. Pan’s research is mainly focused on nutritional epidemiology of chronic metabolic diseases, including but not limited to obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease. Dr. Pan has led and been involved in several nutritional intervention studies as well as large population-based cohort studies to understand the role of nutrients/food/dietary pattern on risk of chronic diseases. Dr. Pan has published over 130 original papers and serves on the editorial board of Nutrition & Metabolism, BMC Endocrine Disorders, Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications, and Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine, and frequently invited as ad hoc reviewers for New Engl J Med, JAMA, BMJ etc. Dr. Pan received his PhD degree from the Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009.
