Elizabeth Mpofu is an organic farmer and activist based in the Masvingo Province of Zimbabwe. She has dedicated her life to working towards the betterment of smallholder farmers and on behalf of women’s rights. Since the 1990’s, she has held various leadership positions and currently serves as the General Coordinator of the international peasant movement La Via Campesina, a coalition of 164 organizations in 73 countries around the world, representing about 200 million peasant, landless, indigenous, and other farmers.
