Oliver English is a filmmaker, environmentalist, food activist and former restaurant developer. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Oliver grew up in his family’s restaurant business. He has been intimately involved in the world of food ever since. Oliver is the Co-Founder & CEO of Common Table Creative, an impact-driven production company specializing in advancing global food, sustainability and social justice issues. He created and is currently producing Common Table Creative’s signature documentary, Feeding Tomorrow. Prior to launching Feeding Tomorrow & Common Table Creative, Oliver led his family company, The Olive Group’s international restaurant development sector. He opened restaurants throughout North America, Asia, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. His experience in the global hospitality business showed Oliver first hand the positive and negative effects of globalization and climate change on the worlds food system. They inspired him to use art as activism to address the issues at hand, and inspire long-term lasting change. Throughout his time in the restaurant business, Oliver worked for some of the most prestigious global hospitality companies. They include Elizabeth Blau & Associates in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Alain Ducasse Enterprise in Paris, France. In New York City, Oliver worked with The Union Square Hospitality Group at the three-star Michelin Eleven Madison Park, currently rated No. 1 by San Pellegrino’s 50 Best restaurants in the world, and The Dinex Group, the management company of Celebrity Chef Daniel Boulud. Oliver is a graduate of Cornell Universities School of Hotel Administration and a member of the American Council for Young Political Leaders (ACYPL).
