Shafinaz Hossain is one of the 25 young leaders of Thought for Food (TFF), a movement dedicated to engaging and empowering the next generation of innovators to solve the complex and important challenges facing our food system. She is responsible for advising on TFF Challenge program and curriculum updates, giving insight and feedback on TFF’s strategic plan and leading a regional group of TFF Ambassadors in Bangladesh and Southeast Asia. She co-founded FoodFresh, an affordable solar powered storage solution for the smallholder farmers, during her undergrad days to tackle the postharvest loss in Bangladesh. Hossain is also a former United States Agency for International Development (USAID) employee and has been directly involved with Feed the Future project aimed at 20 disaster prone region in Bangladesh where she designed interventions using the market systems approach to address the problems of food insecurity in her country. She is currently working in a multinational digital services company and simultaneously pursuing Masters in Economics with a passion to major in Agricultural Economics.
