Sarah joined Innovations at the Wellcome Trust in 2010. She has over 10 years’ experience working with biomedical researchers in the academic, private, government and NGO sectors to identify and cultivate project funding opportunities. First for the NHS, then Cancer Research UK and now Wellcome, she has expertise in due diligence analysis, research and the facilitation of cross sector partnerships. She has managed a diverse portfolio of funded projects; from drug discovery to medical imaging. In 2013 Sarah moved within the Wellcome Trust to focus on the development of its Sustaining Health initiative, the pilot phase of Our Planet, Our Health. This forms part of Wellcome’s evolving strategy in connecting environment, nutrition and health. She obtained a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of York and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. Sarah’s post-doctoral research was completed at the University of California San Francisco.
