Culinary Officer

Position: Culinary Officer
Reports to: Chief Action Officer
Location: Oslo, Norway (Hybrid work possible)
Contract: Temporary (April 2025 – October 2025, with potential extension)

 

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Culinary Officer to support the planning and execution of a major convening, scheduled for October 2025. This event will bring together leaders in science, business, politics, and civil society to transform the food system for the health of people and the planet.

The Culinary Officer will work closely with the EAT Action Lead and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless event coordination, logistics, and delivery on all the food-related tasks of the event. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the most impactful events in healthy and sustainable food systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. F&B Planning and Coordination
    • Assist in developing the project timeline and ensuring all culinary milestones are met
    • Coordinate with external vendors and partners to deliver high-quality F&B experience in line with the Planetary Health Diet
    • Manage participant flow and F&B breaks, including snacks and lunch breaks
    • Provide a food experience during the event that is in line with EAT’s mission
  2. Official Dinner Management
    • Oversee on-site operations, including venue setup, registration, and technical support
    • Manage dinner venue logistics and oversee event materials, equipment, and services in line with budget constraints, venue regulation and production company
    • Managing chefs, implementing narrative, and owning timeline and run of show.
    • Co-creation of a menu that is in line with the expectations of a high-level dinner
  3. Kitchen Stage coordination
    • Support the execution of the Kitchen Stage program, and liase with partners and sponsors,  including engagement with speakers
    • Overall management of the Kitchen Stage during the event
  4. Administrative and Reporting Support
    • Maintain accurate records of event plans, budgets, and expenses
    • Support post-event evaluation and reporting, incorporating lessons learned into future events

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in event coordination, preferably with international conferences or forums
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus
  • Proven experience with food-related projects and hospitality. Food-related contacts and network, especially with food organizations and chefs a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the EAT-Lancet Commission findings and of the Planetary Health Diet
  • Passion for sustainability, food systems, and EAT’s mission.
