Bruce Friedrich

Bruce Friedrich is Founder & President of the Good Food Institute, a global network of nonprofit science-focused think tanks with affiliates in the U.S., India, Israel, Brazil, APAC (Singapore, Korea, & Japan), and Europe. GFI works on alternative protein policy, science, and corporate engagement, to accelerate the science of cost- and taste-competitive plant-based and cultivated meat. Charity evaluator Giving Green’s analysis finds that GFI is one of the top six charities globally for climate mitigation impact.

Bruce has penned op-eds for the Wall Street Journal, Foreign Policy, Wired, and other publications, and has appeared on podcasts including Making Sense (Sam Harris), Ezra Klein, and others. His 2019 TED talk has been viewed more than 2.4 million times and translated into 30 languages.  

Bruce graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown Law and also holds degrees from Johns Hopkins University, the London School of Economics, and Grinnell College.
