Carin Jämtin is Director-General of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency since May 2017. Ms Jämtin’s long career within the Social Democratic Party at both local and national level includes being; – Secretary General of the Social Democratic Party (2011-2016) – Vice Chair, Stockholm City Council and leader of the Social Democratic Group in the City Council (2006-2011); – Minister of International Development Cooperation under Prime Minister Göran Persson (2003-2006) and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs (parts of 2006). Ms Jämtin also headed the International Development Cooperation Department at the Olof Palme International Centre (1999-2003).
