
Helena Leurent is Director General of Consumers International, the membership organisation for 200+ consumer advocacy groups around the world in more than 100 countries. Consumers International works with members and partners to empower consumers, to ensure consumers are treated safely, fairly and honestly worldwide, and to drive change in the marketplace on global consumer issues including digital access and rights, product safety, energy and food systems.
Helena joined Consumers International in 2019, where she has focused with her team on:
- Ensuring resilience for the organisation through the pandemic and economic crisis
- Building programmes on core consumer needs of clean energy access, food prices, digital rights, and digital finance
- Building a new Change Network of partners in civil society, academia, government and business
- Delivering a new strategy for the organization to modernize and focus on future issues for consumers
Prior to joining Consumers International, Helena worked for a range of civil society and business organisations with a focus on advanced manufacturing, the future of food and agriculture and humanitarian assistance. Helena has worked for Tesco Stores Plc, Unilever, McKinsey & Co, The LEK Partnership and the World Economic Forum. Helena holds an MA from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, USA.
