FEAST

FEAST (Food systems that support transitions to hEalthy And Sustainable dieTs), a five-year Horizon Europe project (2022-2027), brings together 15 European countries and 35 partners from the fields of food systems, agriculture, environment, medicine and public policy to design and deliver novel solutions that deliver the EU Farm to Fork Strategy‘s key objectives. Launched in May 2020, the Farm to Fork Strategy is at the heart of the European Green Deal and aims to make food systems fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly.

FEAST aims to catalyse Europe’s just transition to a ‘Win-Win-Win-Win’ food system that sees major gains for people, the planet, and the public and private sectors.

Co-created interventions that cut across systems and sectors are necessary to enable people to maintain healthy and sustainable dietary habits. FEAST will partner directly with communities, cities and national governments across Europe to conceptualize and implement place-specific strategies for increasing the sustainability and health impact of local dietary habits, food procurement practices and food system policies.

Building on its extensive network and partnerships, EAT will convene a variety of food systems actors in 1) policy dialogues to develop recommendations for policymakers on how to support dietary transitions, and 2) communication dialogues to guide policymakers on how communicate to different actors across the food chain.

Through co-created interventions, reorganized procurement practices and redesigned policies, FEAST will ensure major environmental, health and economic gains for people, the public and private sectors and the planet.
