Paula Victoria Capodistrias

Paula is Senior Urban Food Systems Officer. She supports EAT’s cities projects and it’s efforts to transform urban environments to provide healthier and more sustainable diets for all. Through her role she participates in, contributes to and leads project functions within EAT Cities.

Paula’s professional background is in food system sustainability. Her approach is deeply rooted in system-thinking, action research, and participatory development, all tailored to the context of sustainable food systems. Prior to joining EAT in August 2023 she has working experience from the Norwegian organizations “The future in our hands” and “Matvett”, most recently contributing to the development of the network of Norwegian food banks (Matsentralen Norge) as project manager. She also has experience working in the HoReCa industry and contributing to several EU projects on food system sustainability and food waste.

Paula has also contributed to several reports, journals and policy briefs on food security, redistribution of surplus food and food waste and is a member of the Board of Directors of the European Food Banks Federation, where she leads their Governance Committee.

Paula holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Agroecology and a Bachelor of Science (Bs) on International Environment and Development Studies, both from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. While originally from Argentina, Paula has warmly embraced Norway as her home for the past 16 years.
