Maya Rebermark is Communications Manager at EAT Foundation. In this role, Maya leads the strategic communications work for the EAT-Lancet Commission on Food, Planet, Health; which brings together 20 world-leading scientists to reach scientific consensus on defining a healthy and sustainable diet. Maya also provides strategic and operational input to EAT Foundation communications, supporting its mission to build a healthy, equitable and sustainable global food system.
Maya has over 15 years of combined communications experience, with 10 years specifically focused on environment and sustainable development communications. Prior to joining EAT in October 2017 she worked at the Stockholm International Water Institute (2012-2017) where she developed and implemented communications which highlighted how water and food play major roles in building resilient societies. Prior to 2012, Maya worked in various positions and countries for UNICEF, UN-WATER, UNDESA, Fairtrade Foundation and the Guardian News and Media. At the Guardian, Maya was responsible for the 2008 Observer Food Awards, identifying and celebrating the most sustainable food innovators in the United Kingdom.
Maya holds an M.Sc in Environment, Communications & Politics/Decision-Making from Södertörn University in Stockholm and a B.A in Cultural Studies and English Literature from Bath Spa University. Maya is a British and Swedish national.
