Javad Mushtaq is the Deputy Managing Director and Director of Development, whose primary responsibilities include working closely with EAT’s Managing Director on major organizational decisions, leading the strategy process and setting the strategic direction, creating a sound and sustainable fundraising foundation, managing EAT’s partnership portfolio, leading development efforts in the organization and having an external faced role working on stakeholder management.
Javad’s professional background is from the private sector, spanning a corporate career in 5 continents with experience from the energy sector with Corporate Strategy and M&A, serial social entrepreneurship and early stage impact investing. Javad is the Founder and CEO several social startups, including MAK (Systems change – Diversity and Inclusion), MinMentor (Education for All, reduction of dropout rates) and is also the Founder and Managing Partner of JM Ventures, Norway’s first impact investment and advisory firm focusing on diversity, innovation and startups. He serves as the youngest person in several Board of Directors, Advisory Boards, and has been part of the Norwegian Government’s Expert Committee on Lifelong Learning.
Javad has been widely recognized for his work, latest in Kapital’s 40 under 40 – New Stars in Norwegian Business, as Norway’s top leadership talents under age 35 in 2017, 2018 and 2019, European “Coca Cola Hero of the Year Highly Commended” recognition for his on Diversity and Inclusion, and received “Pride of Performance” award handed out by the Norwegian PM. He is also a World Economic Forum Global Shaper.
Javad holds an MSc (Honors) in Business and Economics from BI Norwegian Business School, and was in 2018 recognized with the «Young Alumni Award», as the most influential graduate in the past 10 years from the business school. Javad is a Norwegian national with ethnic origin from Pakistan.
