Director of Global Engagement and Communications
Marianne Stigset is Director of Global Engagement and Communications. In this role, Marianne develops EAT’s communication strategy, contributes to EAT’s strategic planning process and leads all aspects of the foundation’s communications work, supporting its mission to build a healthy, equitable and sustainable global food system.
Marianne has over 15 years of combined experience from international media, corporate and advocacy communication. She joined EAT in 2017 from Aker ASA, where she served as Head of Investor Relations for five years. Prior to working with financial investment, she had an eight-year career in journalism with the BBC, the Daily Star (Lebanon) and Bloomberg. Marianne was Oslo Bureau Chief for Bloomberg News from 2009-2011. Between 2000-2003 she worked at the World Bank as a consultant on social protection and public sector management, and as a communications associate for the External Affairs Corporate Communications department.
Marianne holds a B.A. in European Studies (Economics and Political Science) from the London School of Economics, an International Relations Diploma from Science Po Paris and an M.A. in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where she was a Fulbright Scholar. Marianne is a French and Norwegian national.
