Joel Angelito Palma
Mr. Palma is a Fisheries major from the University of the Philippines. He started his career in community organizing to small fishermen in Laguna de Bay. Joel handled Pawikan Conservation Project of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) before joining WWF-Philippines as a Project Manager for the Turtle Islands project in Turtle Islands, Tawi-Tawi. He finished his fellowship on Governance and Environmental Democracy at Wolverhampton University under the Chevening Scholarship program in 2007 before his appointment as Vice President for Conservation Programs. Joel provided organizational directions and strategic interventions for both national and regional programs including the Coral Triangle Initiative and the engagement of corporate partners. He designed and implemented the integration and linkage of national and regional programs, plus the organization’s contribution to the achievement of WWF programs and initiaives. He now serves as the President and CEO of WWF-Philippines.
