Dr. Roland Kupka

Senior Adviser for Micronutrients, UNICEF

Roland Kupka is the Senior Adviser for Micronutrients at UNICEF Headquarters, New York. Dr Kupka previously served as a Nutrition Specialist and acting Regional Nutrition Adviser in the UNICEF Regional Office for West and Central Africa in Dakar, Senegal. Prior to that, he served as a Harvard University Research Scientist in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Over the years, his work has focused on studying the role of micronutrients in infection and growth, and on devising effective micronutrient deficiency control strategies. A German national, Dr Kupka completed his doctoral training in Nutrition and Epidemiology at Harvard University.
