Dagur Bergþóruson Eggertsson

Dagur B. Eggertsson was Vice-chairman of the Social Democratic Alliance from 2009 to 2013.
He studied and worked as a physician and holds a master’s degree in Human rights and International Law from the University of Lund in Sweden.
He was the managing director of The Icelandic Student Innovation Fund (1995-1996).
Prior to his post as Mayor, he was elected to the Reykjavik City Council in 2002, he then chaired the City Planning Committee from 2004-2006 and was Mayor from 2007-2008.
He served as President of the Social Democratic Alliance (2009-2013) and as Chair of the City Executive Council (2010-2014).
