The Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation’s mission is to catalyse dialogue and action for a socially and economically just, environmentally sustainable, democratic and peaceful world. In the spirit of Dag Hammarskjöld we aim to generate new perspectives on global development and multilateral cooperation. We have a long tradition of building bridges between actors and provide space for those most affected by inequalities and injustice.
The Foundation provides a platform for marginalised groups and ensures that civil society perspectives, especially from the Global South, are at the centre of the debate. By enabling a meeting of minds in the context of seminars, publications and public events, we contribute to policy development.
Emerging global challenges surrounding health, food and sustainability require new ways of thinking, new approaches to international cooperation and governance as well as involvement of actors such as the private sector and civil society.
Under the theme of ”Global disorders - a new global order?”, we aim to catalyse proposals for new ways to address interlinked global challenges, to gather responses to these, and to deliver outcomes of our efforts to the United Nations and other international and national actors to influence relevant policies.
