Erik Aasheim has joined the EAT Initiative and EAT Stockholm Food Forum as Director of Communications . An experienced journalist and former well known media expert at the Norwegian broadcasting Corporation (NRK) has for the past three years been Senior Communications Advisor for the Norwegian Minister of Climate and Environment.

-Conviction is crucial to create action out of knowledge, and with Aasheim’s extensive experience in the fields of communications and climate- and environmental politics, he will be a key contributor to further develop the EAT Initiative. We are pleased to welcome Aasheim into the management of EAT, says EAT director, Dr. Gunhild A. Stordalen.

Erik Aasheim will lead international communications of EAT, in collaboration with a team in Oslo, Stockholm and New York. He will be a public face of the EAT Initiative.

Aasheim has a vast experience as a journalist, program host and author. His journalist career stretches over 26 years. After seven years at the nation-wide newspaper Dagbladet, he started working at Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) in 1997 as a program host and editor for several radio and TV shows, including Dagsnytt 18, Ukeslutt and Stereo. In 2004 he received the Prix Radio-award in the category Best live broadcast. He spent eight years working as a correspondent in Paris. For the past three years, Aasheim has been Senior Communications Advisor for the Norwegian Minister of Environmental affairs, Bård Vegar Solhjell, and the Climate and Environment minister, Tine Sundtoft. Aasheims last mission in the ministry was to be present at the historic UN climate negotiations in Paris, alongside the Minister of Climate and Environment. Additionally, he is the author of published biographies of the leader of the Labour Party, Jonas Gahr Støre  (2014) and the French-Norwegian politician and corruptions hunter, Eva Joly (2012).
